Content marketing is slowly, but surely gaining momentum in Mauritius. From blog posts to videos, different forms of engaging content are being shared online for different purposes. Let’s talk about a few great pieces of content marketing that are either created in Mauritius, or by international entities for local businesses.

For those who are wondering, Content Marketing Institute (2018) tells us that:
“Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.”
Creating quality content is one of the best ways to really engage your target market. We’ve become a society that is a lot less receptive to traditional advertising methods. If you want to stand out from the crowd, you need to offer people value in exchange for their time. Be it in the form of entertainment, education or information, these days providing value results in bigger returns on investment.
So, in no particular order here are some examples of great content marketing:
1. Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury Hotel
The international online magazine, Alux, targets a premium audience that includes luxury travel enthusiasts. This informative video presents facts on Mauritius. But, at the number 5 spot, subtly nestled between two historic nuggets of information, it talks about the Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury Hotel, its beauty, prices and the different rooms that are available.
Created by the magazine Kozé for Chantefrais, this article takes a look at the importance of neighbourhood stores in the everyday lives of Mauritians (because nearly everyone has a convenience store and even a Chantefrais store within walking distance of their home). The entertaining piece, which helps with reinforcing brand awareness, also reflects on the future of these stores in our ever-evolving society. In addition to being posted online and shared on social media, this Kozé BrandStage article was also featured in the print edition of the magazine.
In this blog post, StayMauritius, a local tour operator, offers an informative list of must-do activities for tourists to experience when they visit Mauritius. On top of their suggestions, they also offer their Conciergerie service to help tourists in the planning of their holiday excursions from A-Z.
4. Otentic Eco Tent
This travel vlog (and blog), presented by British Airways flight attendant, Jess, shows us her (amazing and authentic) experience when she stayed at Otentic Eco Tent. The video speaks for itself, after it ends, you feel compelled to go book a stay.
5. Cap Tamarin
This fun narrative/list-post blog talks about the quality of life when you live, and possibly, work in Tamarin. It is also a gentle reminder of the smart village development project, Cap Tamarin.
6. Seeff Properties
Seeff Properties are developing a luxury apartment complex on the beach of Pointe aux Sables. They made use of Kozé’s BrandStage offer to bring peace of mind to the naysayers who are sceptical about the project’s location. This blog post focuses on the beauty of the fishing village all while addressing the rumours.
